I’m suspicious that this facility has only 3 stars. My mom has had the misfortune of having to require care post-hospital twice. The first time she was here for 2 months. We anticipate her stay to be only 3-4 weeks this time. The first time I was given a list of nursing homes. I visited about 12 of them in one day. This one stood out above the rest for the following reasons: cleanliness (I immediately noticed this when I walked in), the patients appeared to be happy and well cared for (nobody was left in wheelchairs sleeping in the hallways looking neglected like other facilities), many of the staff has been there over 10 years (some past 20 years!) which translated to the quality of the care and compassion they have for their patients.Because this is a critical factor to me, I have to point out that the staff is on top of everything. They are responsive to requests and inquiries and their communication with my mom and me couldn’t have been better.For my mom’s second post-hospital care, she didn’t hesitate coming back here. Many of the staff have told her “I remember you” from her stay here 6 years ago. That says a lot about how much the people here care.The facility was remodeled after my mom’s first stay here. So my comments are based on the facility then. It is even nicer, but more importantly just as good in quality and cleanliness as before.If there is any doubt about this facility I highly recommend visiting in person to talk with the staff and to tour the facility yourself after you’ve visited the other ones in the area. It’s an important decision to make for your loved one. There are so few good quality care facilities out there. Beachside is one we recommend without hesitation.

I have a new knee! Although I was discouraged to attend a rehabilitation center I went to Beachside in Huntington Beach. First impression: it was so clean! Wood floors and nice decor and so clean that it catches your attention right away. No smells, ever! The team that worked with me were well-trained, efficient, and friendly. I noticed that I had a team of people who were there to help me and response time was nearly immediate! The physical therapist that worked with me one-on-one (2 hours a day!) was fantastic! My neighbors were so surprised to see me walking after only 9 days! Food: you can have your own brought in but I found all good home cooking. Even if it didn’t sound like something I might like, just one bite and I was hooked! Bottom line: I am going back when it’s time for my right knee replacement! All staff—AMAZING!

This facility has a very dedicated staff and caring health professionals. My wife was there for only three days and was delighted with the treatment she received. Would recommend Beachside to anyone who wants top-rated health care. The administrator personally introduced himself and made me feel that I could call upon him anytime. This is some special place!

I have been here numerous times and I have always been impressed by the staff, the cleanliness of the facility, and the administrator is very friendly. The administrator, and the Beachside staff are always willing to accommodate families in their time of need.

At the end of the day, I’m proud to be associated with Beachside Nursing Center. The staff are extremely kind and friendly. The nursing team lives up to its 5-star rating given it through the Department of Health Services. And although the therapy gym isn’t huge, the therapy team does a fantastic job of making rehab a great experience. I would encourage anyone who might need skilled nursing and rehab services to at least go to the facility and learn for themselves why its so great.

My 79-year-old mother, Marta, recently had muscle repair surgery on her right leg, that required skilled rehabilitation. She was sent to Beachside Nursing Center in Huntington Beach. She had been a patient there before for an injured leg. As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for 40 years, I have been to hundreds of skilled nursing facilities, providing patient care and transportation to and from them. I use to say to myself, “would I put my mother in these facilities if needed”. Most of them I would have to say no because of the poor care patients received, and the below standard overall appearance of these facilities, as well as the below standard of professionalism I have witnessed from the staff(s) . Having said that, I take GREAT PLEASURE giving Beachside Nursing Center the most excellent rating possible for any Nursing Center in Southern California. I have witnessed the most professional group of skilled persons, from the administrative staff on down to the maintenance staff. The social workers made sure that she received the best care, during her stay, and post-discharge. The nursing staff were amazing in her medical care. The CNA’s were always very attentive to her needs. They made her feel very comfortable, at a time when she was scared. They gave excellent compassionate care at all times. During her post-surgical recovery, a wound care nurse noticed her incision site becoming infective. Had it not been for her sending my mother back to the surgeon immediately, the infection might have spread into her bones and other vital organs causing serious illness or death. The Director of Nursing, and the RNs/LVNs supervised her overall health care, and in my honest opinion they were better than RNs I have seen at hospitals. By far they have set and exceeded the bar in nursing excellence. The Physical Therapists did an excellent job of of taking her through all the exercises to help strengthen her leg, and to be able to walk with a walker during the healing process. The maintenance, laundry cooks, and housekeeping staff were all great. The facility is clean at all times, never any of the “typical odors” you encounter in most other facilities, and the appearance is very beautiful inside and out (patio area).I think that my community is very fortunate to have a nursing facility such as Beachside, that has such a dedicated staff of professionals that gives you great, loving care for your short term care needs. I as well as my mother, Marta want to thank and give our love to all of you from our hearts……

5 Stars as good as it gets. Please go to their video presentation, everything there is true. The goal of a nursing facility is to GET YOU HOME. The care, the concern, and the treatment are here in this facility. Physical therapy is 5-6 days a week. Try to find that at other facilities. The food is great and that helps too, even the recreational therapy is fun and helps. Please treat yourself or your family to at least look at this facility. I am certain you will be impressed. I am a former patient, and a retired administrative nurse so I know whereof I speak from both sides. A fantastic facility. The quality of services I would rate as 10 on a scale of 10. Every nurse, assistant, physical therapist, recreational therapist, and help were skillful, pleasant, helpful, and oh yes they made you work. As a former nurse I think I am qualified to judge and as a former patient, I benefited from the care and concern of everyone there. Please visit and make your own decision. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised. The food was great too. A shout out to the administrative staff. You should be proud.

I’m going home tomorrow and wanted to share a few comments. First, I know the staff have tried to make Beachside attractive and well run. I want to especially comment on the professionalism of your therapy staff who, with kindness and charm, worked with me till I have almost no pain and have regained my strength after arriving in much pain. Also, some of the nurses have been very helpful. My experience has been better than I thought a nursing facility would be.

I have worked with the staff at Beachside Nursing Center for many years. As a professional in the senior healthcare industry, I have seen how professional and attentive all the staff are with their patients. From the nursing department to the therapists, I have always found their staff personable and approachable. I recall one patient in particular who was in a very difficult situation. She had a variety of health challenges. While recovering at Beachside, her husband was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. I recall the staff at Beachside reaching out to the hospital where the husband was to get frequent updates on his condition. The Beachside staff would provide those updates to their patient. The nurses would go out of their way to make sure their patient knew what was happening and provided the reassurance that she would be able to return back home in time to help her husband return home.I have been impressed by the commitment and dedication that the staff at Beachside have for their patients. I know that almost everyone entering a nursing home may be in a challenging situation and it is easy to be frustrated and disappointed. Not all facilities are perfect, but in my opinion, the staff at Beachside do all they can to make a tough situation better for each patient.

My mom recently went to Orange Coast Memorial for a mild stroke. As you can imagine it was a scary time for our family. After a few days at the hospital they told us mom would need to go to a nursing home and gave us a list of places. At first I thought no way. But they explained that the places on the list do short-term rehab. So I went to check out the places and Beachside definitely stood out. First impression, it was clean and people seemed very friendly. The admissions person toured me around and answered all my questions and helped me feel a little better about the whole thing. I also met the administrator and he was very informative and friendly. I ended up having my mom come to Beachside. The same doctor that was on her case at the hospital also was with her at Beachside which was nice. From day 1 the staff did a great job. Therapist are awesome. Very knowledgeable especially with the issues my mom was overcoming due to stroke. Therapist worked with her almost every day of the week. Food was okay, actually better than expected given it was a nursing center. My mom was able to have a semi-private room which was nice cause the three bed rooms looked a bit cramped. Overall I was very impressed. Really changed my view of nursing home. The administrator would always refer to the place as a “transition to home” and that’s what happened. My mom was there for about a month before going home. We ran into a few issues, but the staff always responded quickly to fix any problems. I would definitely recommend Beachside to anybody that has to go to rehab after being at the hospital.

This place is great they really treat the patients well. Very clean and friendly they want to get you well and on your way. You never want to need to be in one but if something bad happened I would hope they had a bed for me. From the top down, most of the staff are the best in their field. I was in here a year ago and my aunt is in hear now. 90% of the same staff are still there. This place really cares for their patients.

After surgery at Hoag Hospital, I was ambulanced to Beachside for physical rehab and therapy. I asked the ambulance attendant about the place. He said it was very good. When I got inside, I was startled by the look of the place. This wasn’t any drab, institutional-like interior, it looked like the hallways of a Hilton Hotel: clean, appealing colors, landscape paintings every 10 feet up and down the hallways. I’ve worked for top companies like 3M, Merrill Lynch, and Marriott, and the morale and dedication of the staff to care for ALL the patients needs amazed me. I saw each employee who aided the sick and infirm giving tender and caring help to those they were working with. When I needed something while in bed, someone was there within a minute or less. Whatever I needed was addressed quickly. I felt if I had ever seen the biblical directive to care for the sick, I saw it here. I saw a very open visitor policy. They want family and friends to visit as much as possible. I saw patients and their loved ones sharing meals out on the patio, just spending precious time together.Everyone was very professional and courteous to an exemplary degree. Sure, at times they were involved in something else if I needed something, because they have a lot of paperwork to handle and volumes of books with each patient’s needs and medications, but whatever I needed and they said they would get to me in a minute, they did. I highly recommend visiting this facility and talking with the Director. Hang out for a while and watch. If you go, I hope you have as good experience and care as I did. Your loved ones deserve it and will receive it here.

When you enter a new facility, there is always a settling-in process that takes place for the resident, the family and the facility employees. This is a smaller place, which makes it easier to find and talk to the people you need to help you. The people I have needed have been helpful, friendly and caring. The employees interact with the residents and family members. They smile a lot and take the time to stop and chat with the residents as they move around. It is not unusual to see the Administrator out and about talking to employees, residents, and family members. Because of my dad’s age and physical problems, he needs therapists that can be gentle with him, but still help him to get stronger every day. The ones working with him are compassionate, but challenge him to do the very best he can. They chat with him as he is doing an exercise, which makes it more fun and less like hard work. No matter if he is grumbling when the session starts, it always ends with him smiling. The gym is small, but adequate. They use the hall for the walking exercises here, as they do in every other facility, including hospitals, where dad has been a patient.I am with my father a lot at meal time. I like to taste the food he is served, to see what it is like. The food is good here. They have a posted menu, but if a resident doesn’t like what is being served, they have the option to choose from a list of alternates. They have coffee and hot water, for cocoa, in the dining room and ice water and juice at the nurse’s station during the day.I would not hesitate to put another family member in this facility.

My mom just got out of Beachside after a partial hip replacement. She was there for about 10 days. I checked out two other places that were on the “approved list” for insurance, and this one had the best appearance, smelled the best, and the staff seemed very friendly and “happy” to be there. The staff was very accommodating in helping my mom. The rehab therapists were all very friendly, helpful, and motivating.

I feel compelled to send a letter for recommendation for Beachside Nursing Center. This is the second time I have been a patient at this facility. Each time I have left more than satisfied with my care. During both stays, the nursing staff has been genuine in caring for my physical and emotional needs. They have been trained to be patient, efficient, and friendly. The nurses and physical therapists were on top of my diet, medications, and specific therapeutic procedures needed for my recovery. Everyone worked as a team and the environment has been well-maintained and clean. I would highly recommend Beachside Nursing Center to anyone requiring nursing care.
